Trick to Getting the Seat On and Off?
on: July 30, 2020, 09:43:17 PM
Is there are trick to getting the seat on and off?  I find it to be a real pain.  Usually takes a few minutes of frustrating fiddling.

Don't have any problem--but if I had a trick it would be to make sure the front is in position first
It's not a big motorcycle just a groovy little motorbike

Yes, you need to get the front in the right place before you engage into the slots at the back of the seat. Then push down at the front and slide the seat forward until it clicks.

Yes, that's the trick, and yes, it's a pain.  :087:

I find that turning the key in the seat lock while you're installing the seat helps a whole lot. Until I figured that out, I would also take an embarrassing amount of time to get it on securely.

you need to physically bend the seat pan as you hook the front end in first. tap the back and it should click into place. It's the middle hooks that are the problem....do it a few times and you're sorted

You can also use a Dremel or similar to cut around a 1/4 off each of those plastic hooks half way along the seat, that way you can engage the front of the seat on the tank boss before the hooks connect with the loops on the frame, then when you slide the seat forward the hooks slide into the frame loops more easily.
