Sorry for the delay guys, this item is very good quality, its suitable for stones being thrown up but would not want to bash it off rocks as it is connected directly to the engine casing, gear linkage and exhaust, just one of the 4 cinectikn points are to the frame.

I got my cheap skid plate today and got it installed thanks to the pictures posted. There were no instructions so all of the pictures posted were a big help! It's not a heavy-duty bash plate but i think a good rock gaurd for the dirt and gravel roads.

I agree its good enough to protect the engine and exhaust from rocks thrown up, would not want to bash it off anything as its mostly conected to the engine and exhaust. Very good for the price and still lets you at the filter and drain plug!

If the Ad says it only fits 2019+, then it only fits 2019+.  Consider this....Rally Raid had to change their original skid plate design for the newer 2019+ CB500X models because there were some minor changes.

Just looked at the pics, even with the fender extender, that oil filter is still just hanging in the breeze. That is my #1 concern in gravel. With this set up, I would consider attaching (silicone or similar) an oil filter socket (one of those thin sheet metal ones) to the filter to protect it. Have used this strategy on a few bikes and it works just fine. 
My T-rex bash plate has already payed for itself.

I took my chances, for $50, if i have to modify it a little, or have my shop make a bracket to fit, still way cheaper then $300. I'll let you know if it fits or has to be modified. Only metal, can be cut or bent.

Finally got it in the mail. I did fit it on the 2017. I had to move around the brackets, and use spacers, ect, and bend a few brackets, but fit. All they have to do is make new brackets and it would fit earlier bikes too with no issues. I made it work, but definitely don't suggest anyone doing it unless you are mechanically inclined and just happen to have extra bolts, spacers and stuff lying around
