2020 CB500X ABS - United States (Colorado)
on: August 18, 2020, 10:00:13 PM
Hi all, just picked up a new 2020 CB500X with ABS. I'm a pretty new rider, just had a small dual sport before this. But I've been lusting after one of these since they were first launched (back when they had 17" wheels). Finally was in a life position to pull the trigger, so I did. I mainly ride on dirt. The only pavement I ride is to get *to* the dirt :). I'm in Colorado, so there are forest service roads aplenty. I do a fair bit of car camping, and tend to use my bike to explore more forest service roads than I can in my 4Runner (2 wheels is faster!). May start moto-camping at some point.

So far, I've adjusted the windshield up, adjusted the shifter up for more upright room for my large boots, and I moved my Ram Mount over from my old bike. Contemplating adjusting the rear brake lever up.

Parts on the way are the Rally Raid skid plate, Rally Raid foot pegs, T-Rex rear luggage rack, Bark Busters, and a radiator guard. Need to move my fake Pelican case over from my old bike, hopefully to the luggage rack.

Youíre right. T-Rex Racing makes the frames and sells them with bark buster plastics. I did have to add 15mm spacers to clear the windshield.

Welcome to the forum, Colorado has some spectacular places to ride.  I grew up in north Denver and get back occasionally. If you are riding dirt, good crash bars are vital.  See my May 17 post in the Accessories section for information on the Honda crash bars, I recommend these.
