If I cannot increase my range of motion in my left ankle , I may be forced to sell this lovely machine and go back to a twist and go maxi type scooter if I want to keep on riding.

Crikey , I hope not.  :087:
I'll take a beating trying to sell a slightly used 2020 CB500X against a brand new one.  :110:

To me bikes are toys and a hobby a long one 56 years so if it doesn't work it must go and I'm sure in the not to distance future (I'm 70 now) I to will have to make the tough decision quit or ride what I can- only time will tell- I would have no problem if it came down to a max scooter and the new 400 Burgman is top notch but at $8200 that would take a real big-I want it-as of right now the 500X is working very well even after my heart attack last year-but I do feel this will be my last-what I call a full size bike-so do what you think is right for you and if you lose money no big deal

I agree that it's only money, but I really cannot afford much of a  financial hit on the toy front according to SWMBO.
She is of the opinion that if I want to keep riding I need to find a trike with an automatic transmission.

The only thing that meets that parameter is a Goldwing DCT , that has been converted to a trike.  :187:

Crikey ,I could probably buy a whole country for that amount of money  :087: :110:

I have not ridden one, so the only comment I can make is ; maybe the insect look would be ok after a while.

If you decide to replace your bike, consider selling it yourself rather than trading it in. You still may lose money but not as bad as if you trade in your ride.
Iíll think of something later

I'm not in any hurry to sell the motorcycle , and perfect riding weather is here in NC. at the moment.
So I might try and sell now
I'm hoping Honda will send the new Forza 350/300 here . That's the machine on my target list.
If Honda doesn't  send us that one , I'll look for an XMax 300

so if anyone reading this thread knows of a person who wants a CB500X please have them contact me.
Thanks, Doug

I have said before that I do like max scooters and have owned three-the only thing I have against them now in this stag of life is the weight- a 300 Yamaha weights as much as the 500X-I'm sure the 350 Honda scooter(if Honda imports it and that is a big if) will weight more-does weight affect your ankle

Weight is a bit of an issue but nothing I have so far not been able to deal with.
Prior to buying my CBX , I had a Vespa GTS300 .

I sold the Vespa due to the very short wheel base and the 12" wheels. The ride was so bad my old spine just could not handle it. I looked in to all sort's of suspension upgrades and they may have helped a bit . But the cost was prohibitive and not being sure of the outcome I sold it.

The other scooter I have owned ( prior to the stroke) was a 650 Burgman . I know I would have trouble moving it around now . It was a great long distance mount , but heavy as a big motorcycle.

I didn't think my ankle range of motion when I bought the CBX was even a problem , but it is and I don't see that getting any better. Even with my exercise program.

Thanks for the input .
Doug

I wonder if you'll get this Yamaha Tricity in the US, 3 wheels that handle like 2..... Honda have also 'teased' a new Forza 750 scooter here recently, or what about a Honda NC750 with a DCT gearbox?

Gotta keep you riding!!   :152:
