The Long Way Up
on: September 12, 2020, 09:56:05 AM
I've just watched a couple of interviews and this trailer for Ewen and Charley's new trip, The Long Way Up.  Unfortunately its first showing is only on Apple TV........  :003:

I know these two guys are not everyone's favourites, but it's still two pals having a laugh on motorbikes, and this time they are on Harley Davidson Livewire electric bikes, so that should add a new level of difficulty, finding places to recharge every night.

The Story So Far.........
2017-2019: 12000 miles recreational use - 89.73mpg UK; 74.72mpg US; 3.15litres/100km

Loved their first two series. This looks interesting with the electric bike angle. Unfortunately I'll never see this one unless it makes it onto Amazon or YouTube.

I love these two guys. Not necessarily because their motorcycle stuff is the coolest or greatest but because they've always been honest about what they were doing.

And watching their camera man school them on that little 250(?) in long way round was just hilarious.

It's never going to be as popular as the previous series due to the electric bikes and HD brand. I did read a review from a journo who had watched the first 3 episodes and interviewed them. He thinks with all the new recording technology e.g. drones, video diaries, on board cameras, etc. That it lacks the lets just pitch up here in the wild for the night. Instead they have to find electric hook ups and endure range anxiety. Finding themselves in locals houses only to trip the lighting circuits in under developed areas. I wonder how much it has been staged. I mean who decided that they should leave Argentina in winter with snow storms and such and they wonder why the range was not that good?
I'll see it sometime, but wouldn't pay for it.

I loved the original (round?). But since watching that I've become more and more distracted by McGregor's luviness. He's probably a great bloke, but I doubt I'll be watching.

Wait until all episodes are up and you could watch them under the seven day free trial. Or you get 12 months free if you purchase any Apple product, such as updating a phone.
