Time for a new rear tyre.
on: October 17, 2020, 10:19:50 AM
At just under 9000 miles on the original Dunlop rear tyre and just having had my bike serviced the mechanic advised me I needed a new rear tyre which I new anyway.

I decided on a Bridgestone Battlax A41 60X160x17 at 110 fitted at my local bike tyre shop I removed the wheel and took it down to the shop and had it fitted took about 10-15 minuets.

I will be taking it easy for the first couple of hundred miles also the winter months are approaching so I wont me doing too many miles.

Have previous version (A40) on a Wee - quite happy with them - the only issue is a grip with wet and cold weather but nothing too alarming. And it handles well on gravel and broken or dirty tarmac. A41 will be the next tyre change.

I love Bridgestones. I have T31's on my 1300 and have total confidence in them wet or dry  :018:

It doesn't take that much to scrub in a new tyre.

One way is to just go to an empty car park and just do lots of figure of eights, starting slow then move on to faster ones with more lean to get the edges.

I agree, I usually take it steady for the first 50 miles, by the time I've got to 100 miles job is done. Tyre is usually scrubbed in by the time I get home from having picked it up

I all ways give any new tyres a good rub down with sand paper.
