GIVI windscreen for CB500X

Hi all,
I was looking for an acceptable way to prevent wind buffeting with stock windscreen but at the end only real solution was to get an aftermarket one.
Among many options I've investigated I end up buying a GIVI D1171ST windscreen as it seems to tick most boxes for me (wider and taller than stock) and also seems to be popular choice for CB500X.
Here is my short video review if anyone is considering aftermarket windscreen for CB500X.
Hope it helps.

My one off personal opinion only on that Givi shield is it maybe the worst shield I have ever used-it increased the buffeing alot over the stock shield instant neck pain and blurred vision

Interesting, for me it's better than stock no doubt but far from perfect.
How tall are you?

On the same subject even through I like the stock screen on my 2019 there is always room for improvement without spending alot-enter Amazon with points I had acumalated I ordered a Chinese shield tinted 100mm taller shipped from the USA was $60 paid $30 so how can you go wrong on that and it's returnable free-should have it in 5 days- we will see

Hi,
Yes, the standard screen is too short, regardless of positioning, so is very noisy and buffeting. Don't waste cash on fancy / fancier screens. Get hold of a 3mm perspex offcut that'll give you an around 20 cm higher screen (you'll pick one up for next to nothing), then use an hot air gun to shape the perspex to match the existing screen contours. Trim / smooth the top corners to the shape you require.
Honest, it's easy!
You'll find you'll still have some buffeting, if you bolt the extension to the existing screen, so use spacers (washers will do, though I made perspex spacers) and make a 10mm air gap between screen and extension. The air flow through the gap prevents the frontal airflow from "rotoring"/eddying over the top of the extension. I found that I had to heat/bend the top corners slightly forward to completely eradicate buffet - easy with the air gun.
Really, this does work.

Well got the shield in --short story not as good as the stock screen- same amount of wind and a little bit of buffeting thrown in had none with stock screen- so back it goes -stock screen with adjusters back on- all's good
