The things I would like to see are take a CRF250L drop the 300 engine in it add a 3to4 gal tank And tubeless spoke wheels and bring in the CB350 H'ness they just released in India with a little more HP and just for kicks a rumored 350 ADV scooter would be nice as you can see their all 300-350 range
It's not a big motorcycle just a groovy little motorbike

You mean this?

photo. note. this is the concept 125cc version - it shares the same frame with the CB300R.

with all these people traveling the world on all manner of bikes some built for the task more than others no one makes a true(in my opinion) adventure bike my wish list

350-400cc aircooled single about 35HP five speed first four close ratio for off road fifth gear overdive for  hiway  with single cam -rockers with screw adjusters- 2gt sump-can run on low octane gas -fuel injected with external fuel filter- kickstart able to run on dead battery-  oil cooler thermostat controlled- heavy duty frame able to take heavy rear bags- minimum plastic- heavy duty tubeless spoke wheels 7" travel front and rear- 525 chain inclosed- min 5 gallon tank and the list goes on but you get the drift-I think the Japanese could make something like this easy and sell it for around $6500 and be about 350 lbs-the line forms at the right

Hi MotorBoy - have you ever looked at https://www.ccm-motorcycles.com/bikes/gp450-adventure/ ?
CCM used to produce a smaller, lighter bike (as British Army issue) - in the mold of WW2 dispatch rider models.

I was looking at that CCM 450 last night too but not exactly Honda levels of reliability, parts, servicing ease etc. Put me off a bit.

In the US there is a much better choice of old school thumpers - that's what I'd like ideally.

More power than my Himalayan but the same simple build and I'd love USD forks.

Other options are the KTM 690 Enduro, Fantic Caballero I guess or going back in time to a used Tenere XT660Z, BMW 650 Dakar.  Prices of the 660's are a bit silly used given they could not sell them at the end of their life.  A smaller option was the Suz DRZ400 but again these seem really silly money in the UK used?!

As for twins I also keep coming back to the F800GS last of line Trophys' at 7500 odd - approved used from BMW with two year warranty, come with all the bits you'd need to Rally Raid a CB500X so price is similar.  But a bit more of a lump at 220kg and wheelbase is about 5 inches longer!

Also the Ducati Desert Sled but Ducati service costs put me off a bit...

Don't know what to do - I test rode a CB500x and was all set but took my Himalayan out the next day and wow what fun still and not *that* much slower then the 500X in real life but so much more character.

I even joined the blooming FB Honda Dominator group as I still want one of those after 30 years of lusting after one as a kid.

I would rather have the Himalayan I think - like the GS310 they are all basic Indian bikes.
