Well...CCM may have designed and produced the GP450 but they did not continue with it,The 'glued' frame concept did not continue through to their next range of bikes.
I lived not far from where CCM bikes were made and drooled over their earlier motocross brakes at the track when I had a mere early KX250,Kawasaki's first attempt at an MX bike.
I even dropped some coin on a CCM 250  two stroke and a new 604  Rotax engined enduro knowing full well that I would never be able to get new parts a couple of years down the road.
I also eyed up the GP450 when they started showing them at the shows thinking....would I get parts in the future ?
I noticed that the bikes delivered to customers somehow did not have the same quality parts that the show bikes had...so I did not buy.
Sure enough the model was dropped a couple of years down the road.
The military bike they produced years earlier for the Army was not a CCM design,it was produced under the name Armstrong and and again used an Austrian Rotax 4 stroke engine.
I think there were two versions,a 350 and a 500 .
I could be wrong here and I need to check this but it could have been a SWM design.
They still sell when crop up on the UK market and I do see the odd one out and about around here,in military green of course.

You talking about the Armstrong MT500?  Later replaced by the MT350 (badged Harley Davidson) British Army dispatch rider's bike?

I've come so close to buying one of those (350) down the years, should have done when you could pick up just released MOD examples at 1000 or so at War and Peace.  Only ever joined the club and got the t shirt!  :152:
