From the Shad page about their 3P system for the CB500X (http://www.shad.es/en/shad-world/produits/fixations/honda/cb500x/2017/c12mar1mod587mot4359/), it seems that the SH23 is not compatible:

"3P SYSTEM ONLY COMPATIBLE WITH SIDE CASES SH36/SH35.
NOT COMPATIBLE WITH SH23."

The same is true for the NC750X (http://www.shad.es/en/shad-world/products/fittings/honda/nc750x/2017/c12mar1mod605mot4364/), but not for the Benelli TRK 502 (http://www.shad.es/en/shad-world/products/fittings/benelli/trk-502/2017/c12mar23mod681mot4455/).

I just found this description on Amazon and it says the SH23 is used with the 3P mounting system.

Shad only mentions H0CX59IF as their 3P support for the CB500X, and explicitly say that it's not ok for SH23.

But there also exist H0CX58IF and H0CX57IF, which seem to be ok for the SH23. Shad doesn't mention them, but I can see them e.g. at https://www.ebay.fr/itm/HONDA-CB-500-X-2016-2017-2018-SHAD-KIT-VALIGIE-LATERALI-SH23-STAFFE-3P-SYSTEM/233249301886 for a 2016-2018 CB500X, and at https://www.ebay.fr/c/7007034441 for a 2019 one.

On AliExpress, I couldn't find the reference for the support. They don't mention a specific year for the bike either.

Thanks for the link to the thread! It seems definitely possible, then...

Searching specifically for the references of the support, here they are at Shad:
- H0CX57iF, for year 2016: http://www.shad.es/descargas/shad7820.pdf
- H0CX58iF, for years 2016-2019: http://www.shad.es/descargas/shad9679.pdf
- H0CX59iF, for years 2016-2019: http://www.shad.es/descargas/shad9821.pdf

The first two documents show that the support is actually different. But the last two documents seem exactly identical, except for the reference at the top.

I've had the Shad 23s on my 2018 500x for almost two years now and they have held up well. I really like the top opening and it is quick and easy to remove the cases from the bike when they are not needed. My only gripes with them are how far out they mount from the sides of the bike and with how poor the installation instructions were. With the Shad 23 panniers you also retain the side grip handles. Revzilla in the USA lists the 3P rack system for the Shad 23 on the 500x as currently out of of stock but maybe their webpage description will be helpful https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/shad-3p-system-side-case-racks-honda-cb500x-2016-2020?sku_id=1816745

Thanks for the post.  Good to know that the do fit.  Did you have any issues with the key lock?  Some reported problems.  Any chance you have a picture of the cases mounted from the rear?

Ruggybuggy.
My pal rated the Shad top box and panniers do much...he bought the seat and that transformed the comfort as he felt,as I did with my 500 seat that it was pushing his gentleman parts too far forward.
I recall looking for a Shad seat for my 500 at the time..nov 19 and it was not listed, hence me getting the Seat Concepts foam and cover as a cancelled order from a local dealer.
When he advertised his NC750 fir sale one if the reasons the buyer wanted the bike was that the buyer wanted the bike was that the Shad kit was offered with it.
Oh...my palhad a ride on my T7 and shortly afterwards called me in the morning to ask if I would go to look at a little used T7...I did and he bought it on the spot !!

rear width with Shad 23 bags mounted

You can see they are set off a ways from the bike. I've had no problems with the locks.

I had Shad panniers and top box on my last X, but not those ones. Liked them better than Givi.
