cb 500x exhaust without catalysator

Has anyone replaced the original exhaust pipe from the beginning to a non catalysator collator? Has any benefit, efficacy, sensitivity been observed?

Moi.
I did it, with an Ixil catless header.
It brings some torque, a bit more sensitive throttle response and some extra noise from the exhaust. But the best would be to alter fueling also.

How did you get the oxygen lambda sensor to fit into the new exhaust manifold? The threaded part of the lambda sensor is so short.

Can you also just knock the catalytic material out of the OEM shell where it currently exist and leave the OEM exhaust in place with out changing anything?  You can remove the muffler and expose the catalytic rock like material from the hole in the exit port of the catalytic shell.  I did this on an exhaust system of a toyota truck back in the 90s with great success.  Replys from the forum are greatly appreciated.

What about just removing the catalytic rock like material from the OEM catalytic shell or collator, and thus leaving the OEM exhaust in place???

Can't comment on the Honda exhaust system but did this on a 650 Versys, opened the silencer up and got rid of all the catalyst stuff in there. Worked great and sounded a lot better, obviously we don't have the emissions checked over here so did not affect MOT.
