Former RAF weapons range tower at Rosehearty. It over looked a sea range that the Buccaneer bombers used to practice very low level attacks on "at sea" barges. It was one of my jobs to “clear” the barges of any un-exploded bombs before they, the barges, were scrapped. And before anyone asks “Why didn’t they sink when bombed”, the barges were filled with high density foam . . . that we had to clear out lump by shredded lump  .

A little way west along the coast is New Aberdour beach, the grey bit on the left of the picture.


This view is, to my mind, very reminiscent of the views you can experience when travelling along the Irish Wild Atlantic Way (well, it remind me of the bits I rode several years ago)

Beautiful! Back in my working days I spent time in the Hamburg area. Always flew into London and then on to Hamburg. I remember seeing all of the what looked like small country roads from the plane and thinking what great place to ride!

Took a burl out this afternoon and decided to take in the views across Lossiemouth airfield . . . just as this Phoon came in on a series of touch & go’s



Sitting doing nowt were 3 of the 4 P8 Poseidon’s that currently make up the RAFs fleet of MP aircraft



Not many miles, but the roads were dry, so all is well in Steves world

What tyres have you got fitted? Are they any good?

Well used K60 Scouts . . . and they are very, very noisy and can be . . . interesting  on greasy roads  . But they work very well on mud & gravel 

The rear is a 150/60 and it has a greater circumference than the original 160/60 tyre the bike came with. It is so much larger that I had to remove the Pyramid rear hugger, but I think the main interference between hugger and tyre came from the width of the knobby carcass.

Got a new set of Metzler Tourances sitting under covers, waiting for the longer and less greay days to arrive . . . about April 2021 I think
