Chop job (windshield)
« on: July 22, 2018, 08:17:30 PM »
Chopped up a 2014 windshield and plasticoted it. Did one before but this time cut straight across the top about 3"just tall enough to cover the mounting supports, instead of following the top contour. Did not use spacers, mounted to original lower mounting points. Buffeting completely gone, clean air up to 85mph ( ran out of open road ). I'm 5'9". Maybe it's  the straight cut across top instead of the contour. Check out my previous work in my photo album :

Looks far better than cutting off the brackets, achieves the same result and is reversible for when it comes time to sell the bike.

Yup ! Like the blacked out look . I powder coated the silver parts on the sides so it all kinda blends. Thank you  :002:

Nope, you're not alone. While i think the above image looks very cool, i prefer a few bits to contrast against what is a pretty dark colour bike regardless of your choice of bodywork paint..

Got into a little bit of a heated discussion with the wife at the weekend when i went to seal the deal on my X, she liked the black one but it was just too black for me.

After a week or so of riding I'm really liking this chopped off windshield, specially in this hot Florida weather  :152:
