Engine / Frame mounting point differences...?
on: January 21, 2019, 05:30:20 PM
Hi Guru's / Experts etc!

So I have a late 2018 X. I'm looking at various enhancements, including crash bars for top and bottom.

Now, lots out there which specify they fit the x from 2013 to [insert choice of 2015 / 2016 / 2017]

My thinking is that since the earliest models, although many upgrades have taken place, I would have though the engine / frame mounting points would have remained the same.

Thus bars advertised as fitting a 2015 bike should, if my thoughts are right, fit onto the 2018 version.

Specifically, looking at these:-

Thanks as always.....

No change in mounting points but the middle cowl and front cowl has changed slightly. I don't know by how much or if crash bars would clear.

Same question here, have a 2016 CB500X, and Heed top/bottom bars appear to have the best overall protection and most mounting points.  Wondering if the PC46 set will fit a 2016.  Any thoughts?

if you can wait a little longer.
i will be attempting to fit a set of top heed bars to my 2017 cb500x asp after Christmas (at the moment they are sat next to the tree) i will post up pictures of them being fitted or not which ever way it goes,

i cant see why they wont fit very little changed shape wise between the 2013 and 2016 models

Yes I've read about minor cosmetic changes to the beak in the 2016 model.  Many of the articles I've read haven't said anything about a structural overhaul or anything.  It's also been said the Givi bars add some or lots of vibration on the highway around the 5k rev mark.  I'm definitely looking to not have any added vibration.  Also very curious to hear the results on fit and vibration.  Good luck!!!

(I'm in no rush by the way)
