2019 exhaust
on: November 21, 2019, 04:01:21 AM
Has anyone drilled out the bottom hole in the exhaust -if you look into the bottom hole you will see a small hole in the end that looks like it wants to be drilled out

After I thought about it a while-the 2018&2019 exhaust look the same except for two outlets on the 2019- the 2019 pops on decal 2018 does not so maybe the bottom outlet on the 2019 is what makes it pop on decal by sucking in air to create a very lean mixture in the muffler-known as after run-I'm going to check this out -because if true increasing the hole size might make the bike a little louder on excel  and a little more pop on decel or may cancel the pop all together-inquiring mines want to know :187:

In fact the excess air is provided by the PAIR VALVE from the intake, through the cylinder head directly beside the exhaust valves to the exhaust header. That way the excess oxygen will burn all the residual fuel in the hot exhaust gases.
The crackling and popping is there with the pre 19 exhausts also, just they are muffled enough so that the rider doesn't hear them much.

So tell me a little more-does it still pop on decel and is the sound deeper or just a little louder

It's just a little louder, but just fine. A deeper sound would require a larger diameter tube. There is also a slip-on exhaust pipe, but with db-killer I don't like the sound. Without it, it's very loud.

I do know what the pair valve is and how it operates I just thought the introduction of air to make the bike pop(not emission related) may have come in further back in the system on the 2019's because I don't remember my 2014 popping at all-you may have something there about the older bikes being muffled more-winter boredom plays hard on the mind
