Took the wasp out for a run today instead of the CB500X.
Went up through deserted Callender and up to Lochearnhead, along the side of Loch Earn were I stopped to cool down and spoke with an 89 year old man who stopped in the layby to ask what engine size is the Vespa. He then told me about all the bikes he used to ride and laterally scooters. Such a pleasant conversation as bikes went wizzing past.
Then headed back home via some quiet single track roads at the back of Comrie. Great few hours riding, but strange riding through Bridge of Allan with no shops or cafes open.

Loch Earn

A ride around the Woodhead Pass CB500X, Royal Enfield 500 Bullet, and a Yamaha RD400
A very good ride out over the hills of Derbyshire.

Man, the scenery there in UK is stunning.  Absolutely gorgeous. (There was a post of SteveT's riding around Scotland, too, but it has disappeared from my screen?!?!?  Edit:  oops, that's another thread.)

How often do you get glorious sunny riding days like that?  I'm afraid my provincial impression of UK is much rainier in general.

Its warm at the moment, generally we have more windy rainy days each year than sunny days. So your impression isn't far wrong, thanks to global warming the summers are slightly improving for us riders. Although I prefer the dry spring and autumn months as it's more comfortable for riding rather than baking in the summer months. Scenery in Scotland and Wales is lovely, more of a concrete urban jungle in mainland UK.

Anyways, nice pictures lads :152:

Callander, Loch Earn and back through Comrie is one of my favourite day rides - did you go up over the moor from Comrie towards Braco?  That's a good road, and passes my cousins sheep farm.  Bikers on the road annoy him, so I like to rip up there as noisily as I can!!   :008:

Then a post of a  CB500x, an Enfield and an RD400?  Excellent!!   :152:

I normally go over the moor to Braco, but just after leaving Comrie past the wildlife adventure centre there is a crossroad, I took the left road and went down single track roads. It eventually brings you out onto the Braco road north of where the moor road would bring you out. Cheers Alex.  :028:

I had a good morning riding around the "bikers playground" that is The Campsies and The Trossachs.  Plenty of bikes out today - both motor and bicycle!  One thing to remember is that with cafe's closed you need to take your own coffee supply - I can see picnics in laybys making a comeback!!

These photos are just outside Doune, and for anyone who doesn't know the area, Doune Castle in the distance has been used in films and TV, including Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Game of Thrones and Outlander.
