Where do you go and meet?
on: May 27, 2020, 10:09:23 AM
I would be interested to know where you meet up with your motorcycle friends or where you go to take a break and talk about gasoline.

Here in Solingen there is the biker meeting point "Cafe Hubraum", it is only 5 minutes away from me. It is located directly on the river Wupper and invites you to its very nice large beer garden, especially in summer. Food and drinks are good and plentiful at fair prices.
On nice days, up to 2000 bikers meet here for a ride or a rest.
We have our regulars' table from the VFR Owners Club there once a month, it is interesting and nice to meet many other people and motorbikes there.

How are you all doing...?

look the pictures...

This is an interesting topic - I must admit, I am a bit of a loner, preferring to 'do my own thing' most of the time.   :034:

However, I have a season ticket to Knockhill Racing Circuit, so I meet some fellow bikers there, and have recently started going to Perth Bike Night, which meets once a month over the summer months.  I also occasionally join my cousin and her husband on their (church) motorcycle club rideouts.

Of course, nothing is happening at the moment due to lockdown.   :003:

In this area its,Hawes,Devils Bridge,Rivington Barn,The Carousel at Southport ( bit of a boring ride there though), Knot End Cafe,Glasson Dock,Matlock Bath.
At the moment I stay away from any of them for obvious reasons but I see on social media that they still get packed out.

There is a rolling bike meet in Worcestershire/Gloucestershire that changes venue every month. Several hundred bikes turn up at each venue (usually a decent public house) and it's a good evening out.  I haven't seen a calendar for this year yet - for obvious reasons.

I decided to call my Sunday ride the FREEDOM RIDE! Ohio is starting to open all business's and I decided to celebrate by managing to do 414 miles the hard way... through the twisties that included Routes 78, 16, 555 and more. I did the Rim of the World Windy 9 leg 87 miles each way. The X performed as all Hondas never missed a beat. Wore my mesh jacket and pants temps hit a high of 91 * F

Couldn't of asked for a more picture perfect postcard type of day!
Hope everyone enjoyed Memorial Day and gave respect to those who gave all. Wardie

I personally don't like to ride with more people - almost always ride alone on desert roads with no traffic. So I can go wild on twisties, stop to look at birdies or smell flowers whenever I want.

There is so much more going on in England for my interests in motorbikes/kit cars/classic cars, you are very lucky!   :152:

I prefer to ride alone as well.  It is my therapeutic escape.

I do consider myself luck to be in an area whereby I can travel all points of the compass.
I also made the last Bike Shows held at Event City the weekend before the lockdown,I also made the last electrical trade show at the same venue, following one in Harrogate was cancelled.
I did however have to cancel a trip to visit some of the Lochs in Scotland.
Another place I was intending to visit again is Callander,as you will know, just into the Trossachs as when I was there in four wheels there seemed to be a gathering of motorbikes so hence my intended return.
I have worked around Scotland a number of times but just never had the time to take in the sights as most of my travelling was at night..I do recall passing the 'cock and ball forest' many a time and thinking, those guys had a sense of humour shaping a wee forest in the shape of a cock and two balls....intentional,apparently.

Callander is a frequent short rideout for me, it's only about 26 miles from my house, riding the "Crow Road" over the Campsie Hills, with a choice of return routes after a wee coffee!   :152:
