Segway is Dead
on: June 24, 2020, 09:38:07 AM
Just read an article saying that Segway has stopped production of their self-balancing 2-wheeler - what a shame, they are a riot to ride!!

I suppose cheap electric scooters, and the government banning them from our roads and footpaths didn't help.

I tried one on holiday, riding around Mount Dora, a lakeside town in Florida where they are legal - it was a little tricky at first, but great fun, and so strange to stop at traffic lights, and magically balance there.

This photo is from Falkirk, not Florida!

Bloody hell I'll have to look into that. We run an outdoor activity center and we have a few segways that we do tours with so I'll have to look into the spares situation.  :005:

:187: Sad to hear production has stopped, anyone who hasn't had a go on one of these I recommend it - and if you get the chance to take an off road version out it doubles the fun!

Nice set up, although I don't think my inner ear/dizziness/nausea problems would survive the rolling spheres!!   :004:

At least you don't have Paintball - I did that once and HATED it - as Ewen McGregor said on Long Way Down, I'm a lover not a fighter..... and his wife now has the proof!!   :008:
