Hi all there is a member on this sight who rides a 2013 x now he has done over 100,000km on it he does do fair trips as well he is very happy with his steed so i would have to say it is capable of long distance . I also follow a chap on a nc750 who resides in thailand and he has clocked up 200,000 km last week on that , he has ben everywhere from myanmar to the himalayas and just about everywhere in between and its the original engine ,one of his compatriots has a cb500 and im sure that will go everywhere as well ,do i think the cb500x is long distance capable ? from what i read and see yes i do .

It's not the bike that does the traveling but the mind -meaning any bike set up any way can travel anywhere from a 50cc Rukus to a full blown 2 wheel car like Goldwing-to me it has always been the smaller the bike the bigger the adventure-in 1967 I did a Robert Pirsig type ride on a 250 one of my best trips
It's not a big motorcycle just a groovy little motorbike

Personally I think the bike should be adapted to the environment - these bikes sure was the perfect choise for those times and roads.......

All of these rides were done in the last 12 years - 2008, 2010 and 2015, so ridden as classics.  They were probably easier to get repaired in remote areas than a modern all electronic/fuel injected bike would be, but then again they needed repairs frequently!!
The Story So Far.........
2017-2019: 12000mls recreational use - 89.73mpg UK; 74.72mpg US; 3.15litres/100km

To answer the original question . . . YES

Did over 300 miles on mine today . . . and I feel that I could do the same again tomorrow and again the day after, such was the relative comfort whilst on the bike and also finally when I finished my days ride.

In 2018 this 74 year old (at the time) disabled Vietnam veterans (spinal fusion and fully torn right rotator cuff being the most significant) rode across the USA on my fully loaded CB500X which had a stock seat. Total distance was over 6700 miles. Longest day was over 600 miles. (A result of making a wrong turn in Thermopolis Wyoming.) I was pleasantly surprised when I felt better at the end of the day than at the beginning and had no trouble setting up camp. Many miles on Interstate 90 at 80 plus MPH. I should point out that I bought the CB despite not liking the styling simply because after test riding several bikes the CB was simply the most comfortable for my battered body

As an old soldier myself, I really like to read posts from folks who signed that blank check , went where they were ordered , did a job well and came back mostly whole.
