Tool Kit
on: July 27, 2020, 03:46:25 AM
Did Honda really cut down on the included toolkit, or did my dealer mess up? I just picked up a 2020 CB500X ABS and all that was in the toolkit is a small square of sponge, a plastic fuse puller, and a 5mm hex wrench! Is this normal?

Wow! I love Honda, always have, but thatís just cheap! The parts list for the toolkit shows a screwdriver, couple of wrenches, spark plug wrench, and a few other bits. At parts list prices itís maybe $50. At cost, probably like $5. Dissapointing. My overall view of Honda just went down a few points.

Why don't you ask your dealer who sold you the motorcycle?
It is hard for me to believe, that Honda removed all tools from the bike. Maybe your dealer took them out during assembly and forgot to but them back in.

I did, waiting for a reply. But other responses tell me this is normal now!

At least you can make up a tool kit using good quality tools....... there is a topic on here discussing what others have "under the saddle" which could be worth a look - you'll see that mine isn't as comprehensive as some of the others!  :034:

In the USA the CB500x comes with just the few bits you mentioned. I made-up my own tool kit. :(

Been a good ten years or better since Honda provided a full tool kit
It's not a big motorcycle just a groovy little motorbike
