Mud Flap
on: July 30, 2020, 03:37:42 AM
After a few off-pavement rides, I noticed that the rear tire was kicking up dirt and mud onto the top case, right where the latch and lock are.

So today I installed a bigger mud flap.

Washed the bike afterward so Iíll get a better idea if it actually works!

Excellent idea!  I did that on my Africa Twin.  I went to a truck stop parts place that sold 18 wheeler mud flaps and cut one down, it worked great.  I think I will do it again for my CB500X!!

I knock up an alloy plate for my machines. Drops about 4-5" lower than the bottom of the number plate (Brit plates are about 50% bigger than the US ones) and it has a slight kick out on its lower edge. Works really well at keeping the crud off of the rear of the bike.

I'm waiting on my front fender extender , and will make up a rear mud flap similar to yours.

I have been looking around at a few different forums and web sites looking for some inspiration on a rear mud flap.

I looked at my modern Vespa sites and found a mud flap with a checkered flag design , but it has a Vespa in the middle. Not sure how that would look on the CBX ??

I want something other than boring black rubber.

I'm definitely putting one of these on mine. Wanna split a pair?  :008:

I'm joking. Mostly. You could get something like this to mount on a plain mud flap.
