Have a look at this, it's 2019 model bike.
It's had no impact damaged in my ownership (I bought new off the showroom floor) although there feels to be a very shallow depression around the formed edge of the filler, it's easy to feel but harder to see. I wondered if the tank has been damaged prior to painting as it looks like something happened there but there are no witness marks in the parts etc.

And went for a 70 mile ride. Should have taken it off ages ago. Immeasurably better, totally smooth air flow.
It's a Givi screen which was an improvement over original but off is best for me. I could cut the OE screen down just to 'dress' the front of the bike but I think I'll see if something from one of the other CB500's fits it to give a factory finish.

Honestly, if you've been troubled by turbulent air etc just get it off and go for a ride.  :046:

Now I have Givi Touring screen to sell.

CB500X - General Chat / Thinking of fitting a flyscreen from the 500F
« on: June 03, 2020, 03:30:58 PM »
I'm considering trying a flyscreen from the CB500F on the X, has anyone tried this? Currently trying to work out if the fixings points are the same.
In warmer weather I think i'd prefer an effectively 'naked' bike.

Has anyone fitted one of these? I was looking at the 250mm variant, not sure what it'll look like though. Maybe it'll look daft being so short??
I'd like a bit more room behind my heel, particularly if I stand with the peg in the middle of the boot sole.
I don't want it to get too loud either, I use it for commuting and don't want to start upsetting the neighbours. I've got another bike for that  :047:

Cheers.

Maintenance and Servicing / 2019 500X, great bike but that fueling!
« on: December 30, 2019, 11:06:21 PM »
I've come from a Triumph Sprint ST 955 (2001) and the fueling on that was great. I've only done a couple of hundred miles on the CB so far and it's great apart from the fueling. It's a lively thing in first and second to some degree and it often needs feathering with the clutch.
Is it possible to map these so this is gone? I'm finding it a PITA to be honest. Not sure that the cables are helping either.
