CB500X - General Chat / Is This Thing Working?
« on: September 21, 2019, 03:50:18 PM »
How accurate do you folks find the on-board fuel consumption readout? I'm still working my way through the first tank full and being gentle with a new engine, but it's showing 89.1mpg (UK gallons) which sounds almost too good to be true...I don't feel I'm riding 'that' slow or steady. If it's right, I'm getting better consumption than my old Suzuki GW250 Inazuma when I was running that in!

Modifications, Accessories, and Appearance / Oh No, Another Top Case Thread!

Just starting to think about adding some stuff to tailor the new bike (2018MY) to my needs and a rack with top case/box is a high priority. I've been reading through some old threads I found with the search tool and it seems the Givi rack (1121FZ) has been the most popular over the years...with the benefit of hindsight is this still a good choice? Does it provide a decent hand-hold for pulling the bike up onto the centre stand/pushing it about? and most importantly, can it be fitted by a mechanical idiot!?

I'm also thinking the Givi V40 Monokey top case is a good compromise between size and appearance...the 500X I had a test ride on had the V46 on and I thought it looked a 'bit' big maybe?

Anyhow, thanks for bearing with me, any thoughts appreciated!  :002:

New Member Introductions / Hello From Kent
« on: June 02, 2018, 04:10:50 PM »
Hi All

After 4˝ happy years with a Suzuki Inazuma 250 I've got an itch for a new bike and a CB500X seems to tick a lot of boxes. I've spent the last couple of weeks hoovering up as much info' as I can from this website (thanks all!  :002:) and am still convinced an 'X' is the way to go.  Can anybody in the UK give me an idea of what sort of discount is achievable on a new bike purchase?...or is it just down to whether a dealer has stock they need/want to shift?  Also, any Honda dealer recommendations in the south Kent area would be appreciated... or which dealers have a demo' bike as I want to try before I shell out that sort of money!
Regards, Grumpy  :158:
