Hi

I got the bike out a few weeks ago (after it had sat for a while) and the battery didn't have enough charge to start it. So I bump started it down the road. Then I went out on a ride to recharge the battery and noticed that the engine management light stayed on. At the end of the ride I turned the ignition off and on again and the light went off.

I assumed that the light was related to the low battery. Last week the same thing happened again -bump started bike and light stayed on. I've bought an optimiser and the battery is fine, but the light hasn't gone off despite me going out on the bike a few times.

Am I ok to assume that the light is battery-related again? If so, is there a simple way of resetting it?

Thanks

Anyone got one? How is it? As good as Givi?

I've just fitted an R&G radiator guard to my 2018 X. The forks touch it on full lock. Anyone else have this?

Before anyone suggests that I search for previous posts, this is a particular request-

It's time to buy some LED spots again. On my last X I had the Bikeviz ones, which worked great and were "120. Others have claimed that the exact lights are available on eBay for pennies. I've never been able to find them -the ones that look to be the same actually have different shaped housings. The Bikeviz lights are round at the back while the eBay ones are flat at the bottom.

Still, I don't want to pay another 120 if I can get something of equivalent quality for less than half of that. I've seen te Interphone lights which also look good but are still around 100.

So, I'm asking for feedback on the cheap lights that you've been running for a while. Does anyone have any that haven't failed after a year or two and would recommend? Where exactly did you get them from? "I bought some for 30 of eBay" doesn't help in this situation unfortunately as there are many different options and sellers on eBay and I'd like to not end up buying tat.

The other consideration is about focus. LED lights are hard to focus and they do bleed, resulting in dazzle to oncoming road users which I want to avoid. These will be for running on proper roads so I'm not looking at the square ones with 6 LEDs in as they're just going to throw light everywhere.

Thanks

Lighting, Electrical, and Wiring / Datatool Trakking issues
« on: February 25, 2020, 03:45:59 PM »
I got my last new X 18 months ago and it came with a free Datatool Trakking tracker. The Honda website says that this is still an offer with new bikes, though I'm not sure how much they publicise it.

Anyway, about 3 weeks ago I got a stream of about 30 email alerts overnight for a low battery. I called the support line and they didn't seem interested. I'd been out riding on a very wet day and assumed it might be something to do with damp.

Until today it's been quiet, but I've just had another 4 alerts.

Has anyone else heard of or experienced this? I can't find any conversation about it online.

Lighting, Electrical, and Wiring / Lights on Barkbusters
« on: January 21, 2020, 09:19:55 PM »
Barkbusters do their own LED units which fit to the Storm plastics. They look like the old-style LEDs and they mount in the perfect place to get knocked, so I wasn't interested. But I wanted to put some lights on the guards to increase my footprint from the front. There are plenty of truck-style marker lights online but none of them looked right. Then I found these small units from Amazon US previously in amber which I fitted as indicators on my side cases. Small, neat, waterproof and cheap, they do them in white as well so I bought a couple. Stuck them on the guards, wired them up to the Fuzeblock and away we go. I'm really pleased with how they look in the dark. Pictures below don't really do them justice.

Maintenance and Servicing / Missing seat rubber
« on: January 04, 2020, 03:18:01 PM »
I've just gone to refit my seat and noticed that it has been rubbing on the nearside side panel. Then I noticed that one of the two front rubbers that fit into the underside of the seat and cushion it against the frame is missing. I'm not sure it ever had one, as I've never seen it lying on the floor anywhere.

Does anyone happen to have a spare? If not, where can I get one from?

Thanks

Lighting, Electrical, and Wiring / How did you mount your Fuzeblock?
« on: January 04, 2020, 03:15:40 PM »
I'd be grateful for any pictures. I'm thinking that the best place is in the space between the battery and the OP plug, but I'll need to grind off one of the plastic raised holes that it looks like takes a self-tapping screw.

Does anyone know what these three holes are for?
