I've got a stand alone TPMS -

Had this for about 3 years now (was on my CRF250 Rally before fitting to my CB500X), works great, easy to fit and no problems. Now there are lots of similar monitors and much cheaper since I bought mine.

Sorry, the negative wire on the harness goes to the green Honda wire.  I can't correct my post.

As for the switch your right in that you have to remove it.  The blue Honda wire is positive when the high beam is selected and can be used to operate the control box which is just a relay.  The other wire will be the grounded and  it can be connected to the green Honda wire.

Great, thanks again for your help, all ready to fit now once it arrives :)

Live feed to Purple wire in the plug
Negative feed + one of the switch wires to Green wire in the plug
Other switch wire to the Blue wire in the plug

I guess it is trial and error to see which one from the switch goes to the Blue wire unless one is black & the other a different colour :) ?

Sounds a bit easier than I anticipated now with your help :) :)

I've wired mine so that my led driving only come on when the high beam are on.  When the lights are on low beam it is not possible to have the led driving lights on.  I did it this way so when I drive at night I my ding light will turn off automatically.  During the day i always ride with my high beams on to be seen by other motorist.

Using the wiring harness you have I connected the red power wire (positive) to the violet wire under the right cowl.  The negative wire on the harness goes to the violet wire.

The control switch wiring has two wires.  These wires are used to operate the control box to turn the led driving light on.  It's basically a relay.  One of the wires will go to the blue wire on the Honda connector.  The other wire will go to the ground wire on the Honda connector (green wire).

The colour of the wires on the control harness will indicate which is the positive and which is a negative wire.  The black will be negative and will connect to green wire on the Honda connector.  The remaining wire will go to the blue wire on the Honda connector.   The only reason that it matters which way they go is because some relays use a suppression diode.

Hopefully all that is clear.   :087:

Thanks for your reply, that is how I want to connect mine, as my daily commute is along dark unlit narrow lanes.

Can you check your post please - you have mentioned the violet wire twice, & is this connection into the 3 pin plug under right cowl.
"I connected the red power wire (positive) to the violet wire under the right cowl.  The negative wire on the harness goes to the violet wire."

Think I have this bit right now - I have to do away with the switch, one of these wires will go to the blue wire & the other wire to the green wire in the 3 pin plug.

I do not get the power supply from either the battery or one of the aux plugs, only the 3 pin plug is used for all connections ?

Getting there slowly lol, thanks for all your help. Just want to be 100% sure I get it right first time when I get delivery and can fit it.

OK, I've got the lights on order from aliexpress - getting the ones with a relay included -
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4001012115493.html?spm=a2g0s.12269583.0.0.39494c050g9vAP

This is the wiring diagram for these lights -

And this plug from ebay -
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-CB500X-F-R-Auxiliary-Output-Options-Plug-1-x-3-way-Connector-Set/282968622281

I intend to connect the power supply to one of the ignition live plugs (either under left fairing, or under the seat).

I want these lights to come on when I turn on my main beam.

Am I right in thinking that I will only need to connect the Green wire from the 3 pin plug to terminal 86 on the relay ??
Or do the Blue & Purple wires need connecting anywhere ?

I guess I can do away with the supplied switch & just join the 2 switch wires together if I want to leave the switch off ?

Does anyone know what plug I would need for this one - I want to get extra lights and wire it to come on with the main beam

Just bought a new CB500X 8 weeks ago after having a CRF250 Rally for over 2 years. Already done nearly 3000 miles. I live in North Wales, so plenty of great roads to ride on.
