Rang my dealer up and their ordering the parts for me. I'm guessing it'll only take about 5 minutes as it's only replacing two bolts

They probably want the bike to cool off a bit so that the oil isn't at operating temperature (the bolts keep the oil on the rocker arm shaft from draining out).

Two bolts + crush washers....they also need to rotate the engine while doing it apparently so there is another larger washer from the side of the engine, somewhere.... Shouldn't take that long but better off done than a broken engine.

Just had mine done today.  It took not much more than an hour from when I handed them the keys to when I got back on my bike.  They said it was the first one they did and they were not sure how long it would take.  I did see that Honda pays them for 1.1 hrs of labor.
The dealer was great!  They put a demo plate on a new Yamaha FZ-09 and told me to go for a ride!

I got a call from my friendly Dealer in Port Macquarie advising MY x needs the bolt recall, they've got the parts in, will take about an hour, I thought Cam said it was out of the Vin sequence(I didnt check), oh well, I'm including them fitting Oxford Heated Grips and a warranty replacement Rally Jacket while I'm there.
Getting ready for all those wonderful Winter rides!!
Another tedious  :082: ride down the Oxley Highway ho ho.

Just got my snail mail letter about my scooter being in the recall.  Will make an appointment for a couple weeks from now.  Under a winter storm warning tonight through Wednesday.  Will trailer the bike down to the dealer and leave it.  They can do the first scheduled service work done at the same time.  Winter has been long and arduous here.  Can't wait to ride.  ~  Butch

I just received a snail mail notice today as well. Glad the forum knew about this way in advance. I have been checking those bolts regularly.

Received my recall letter in the mail today also. No obvious problem with the bolt(s) on mine, but will let the dealer handle it.

Booked in for the 7th, may manage to borrow another bike while I'm there for a while. The dealer in Aberdeen is really good

Am going to take the side panels off, under cowling to make the job go quicker.  Will have to trailer the bike down this coming week, and leave the trailer and bike there til it gets done.  Should get the manual tomorrow.  After the first service I can take care of the scooter til something comes up that I can't handle.  ~  Butch

I got my letter a few days ago and contacted the dealer who told me that my bike was done when the chain was getting replaced two weeks ago, but no parts were renewed. I think they just done a visual check, but the letter states that the parts are to be replaced, am I correct?

Yes if the recall has been made in your country then the parts have to be replaced

That fz09 or mt09 is an awesome bike. I'm really tempted to change

It was a fantastic bike to ride but the CB500X is cheaper to buy, fuel and insure.  I suspect that maintenance will also be cheaper in the long run.
