Modifications, Accessories, and Appearance / Re: Honda's Wind Deflectors
« on: August 10, 2019, 04:53:59 PM »
I fitted these deflectors about 2 years ago and the do work,
I only got them because they were very cheap a fraction of
Hondas price , I would not have considered them at retail price ,
They do look quite good a nice piece of trim.

The stack on left takes a quarter turn left
The one on the the right quarter turn right
Just give them a wiggle and they come out
A touch of grease before refitting and the go in
No problem , hope this helps.

I've owned my bike for 3 years and was quite happy because it is
What it is,but releasing those elusive unicorns that have been hiding
In that wee motor I believe takes it to a new level and god forbid I ever have to sell it I can covert it back to standard spec in 15 mins.

When I did the inlets I did not change anything else,
Stock exhaust ,air filter , pair injection still connected.
I found the original posting raised the question as to what
Could be gained from the motor when alternative inlets were available
In the US. What I found in throttle pick up ,torque, and roll on
Have definitely being an improvement in my opinion.
With Honda already offering an alternative in non Eu countries
They must have done their homework.
It's a 47bhp motor any gain in performance has to be a good thing,
I've read enough about people looking for increased performance
Maybe one of the answers has been this simple .

Hi woody, It's a 2013 ,if newer bikes don't have this restriction in the inlet velocity stack are they restricted by the ecu.

This has been a very interesting topic ,I had a look inside the air box
Took out the stacks cut out the restricters, cleaned up and polished .
Took it out for a test ride and I feel an improvement in pick-up and
Torque. I've done about 200 miles on it and haven't noticed much
Change in fuel consumption, it's also got a nice induction sound
Not unlike an Africa twin, I'm happy with the outcome and thanks to you for your research on the subject.

I always wear earplugs and that helps a lot .It seems to be quite a
Problem wind noise and turbulence with many solutions for different
People .I found cutting a standard a screen down to just above the
Mounting brackets made a massive improvement for me ,I got the screen for 5 of ebay ,cut it and plastic coated in Matt black,
Looks a bit triumph street triple but works for me .

Were cutting into his clacker bag .
Don't ware them ,but Marino wool is excellent.

Well there ye go,it's a very popular loop around the loch.
During summer months the roar off bikes and super cars is common
place with them ripping through, the sound of the pipes echoing of the
Side of the valley you can hear the for miles.
