We're planning on moving to your area next year so if we do, a test ride will be on offer...

Rally Raid / Level 1 Fork Upgrade Fitted, Initial Thoughts.
« on: August 21, 2019, 07:14:03 PM »
Well, after much deliberation I took the plunge and ordered both the Level 1 Fork Upgrade and the Rear Shock to match.

Fitted the fork upgrade only today, took about two hours which included plenty of stops for tea. Instructions are clear and don't leave any questions unanswered.  Once installed, I took her out on one of my  'loops', about 50 miles. I chose a particular route, one I ride regularly as a means of properly understanding any difference the upgrade might make (or not).

I would be daft to start raving after just 50 miles but I must say, I'm very, very impressed.

My X tracks in a straight line better, absorbs all manner of undulations better, feels properly planted on the road and by the end of my short ride was really inspiring confidence.
One particular part of my journey has a long, sweeping bend which is far from level and would normally have my Xs front end tied in knots if you tried to take it quickly but this time, none of that, she behaved incredibly well, so much so I turned round, went back and had another go just to be sure!

While i don't use mine off road (yet), the real world change on road is truly tangible and makes the X an even better place to be, I'm very happy with my purchase and look forward more than ever to my next ride.

Downside? Not in the product itself but as others have mentioned, it accentuates how poor the stock rear shock is so I will be swapping that out as soon as I have the time.

Happy days.

Interesting read.

I know better grade diesel has more detergents, I run an 'oiler' and use better grade every thres or four fill ups.

Hi, quick question.

Can anybody tell me what size bolt retains the damper tube in the bottom of the fork leg please?
