saw several more 500X's on my travels across the prairies to the Okanagan Valley. Hope you all had fun.

Modifications, Accessories, and Appearance / 2019 OEM Light Bar
« on: June 22, 2019, 12:45:28 AM »
Just added the 2019 OEM Honda light bar.

it appears to be redesigned for 2019 (based on the older installation instructions I found). It is now a single piece bar warpping around the motorcycle and attached to the front of the frame via a heavy new mounting bracket that attaches behind the headlight housing.

It is a very heavy unit with quality metals, excellent welds and a well done paint job. and it fit right out of the box with a minimum of fuss and not a single need for bending or hammering.

I have heard people disparage the older unit as "cheap" or "frail"..... I have nothing to compare it to but I believe that this new "Light Bar" is a durable and resilient accessory that  would protect the plastics in anything but a serious crash.

I also think it looks cool!

Hi.

Quick story. I rode a lot of bikes when I was a teenager and into my early 20's. Mostly off road. Bikes, quads, trikes, etc.

I gave up my bikes when I moved from the country to the city in my 20's and began riding Mountain bikes. pretty aggressively.

I'm closing in on 50 and after a collection of injuries have ended my bicycling days, I've decided to get back on a motorcycle.   I took a course, got my licence and spent last summer driving around on my brothers Honda Shadow 1100.
it's a nice bike but I didn't really find it fit the kind of riding I was looking for.

I wanted a more upright ADV style bike, but light and nimble..... obviously, I chose the CB500x after some test drives last summer.

My original plan was to grab up a 2017 or a 2018 on discount this winter..I found a nice price on a 2018 at my local dealer....but then I saw the 2019..... Now I can't wait to get one!!!!

I've contacted my local dealer to make sure one of them is ready for my first ride in the spring.Jjust waiting to learn the details when Honda Canada finally gets him the pricing and delivery info.

So I figured it was time to quit lurking and join up.

Hi everyone!
