2018 cb500x. Got a universal 2" diameter exhaust with a mid pipe that doesn't seem to have a secure fitment. No fumes or anything but you can clearly see its at a slight angle. Hasn't caused any issue but looking at some options to just fix it up.

I've seen a few different puttys available, from metalic paste, to high temp silicone, to cements. After that I intend to do a bit of an exhaust wrap to tidy the looks.

After doing research, all  3 options seems popular from their reviews, so I thought I'd ask here as well.

Modifications, Accessories, and Appearance / Heated grip question

Hey y'all so apparently the cb I got already has heated grips but it's installed a bit sketchy and I need advice.

I'm not sure what brand they are exactly but it was installed differently than the Oxford. The white plastic throttle wasn't filed down, instead it's completely removed, and the throttle grip directly on the handlebars. The throttle also will stay open after turning, there is tension but doesn't rotate back automatically.

What should I do?

Lighting, Electrical, and Wiring / Aliexpress heated grips (noob)

Sorry for this dumb question but I recently bought a set of grips from aliexpress

It claims to be 12v and 12-24watts. Can I connect directly to my battery? Also I don't know what the little black box does exactly.. They were cheap but not sure if it'll break anything. Should I invest into popular brands like Oxford instead? Thanks..

I remember seeing in ebay something like this (can't find one to fit the 2018 though)

Anyone tried  these? Madstad is a bit pricey for me at the moment to justify the purchase..

(Admin Edit:  Ebay link shortened)

Before doing any research, I came across the issue with the centerstand kicking back too high and touching the chain, so on the exhaust circle clamp, I added a piece of metal, about 6" long with a hole, that I fit into the screw and extends to the bottom of the rear suspension. It's holding up pretty good thus far in half a year.

The alternate solution I've came across after is adding a secondary clamp in the middle of the mid pipe with a longer screw so the oem rubber stopper will hit the screw. I've seen some good results as well as bad ones. What do you guys think? Will the kick stand smacking back at that clamp eventually rotate it? Should I keep what I have and ignore this common solution? Or change into it? Thanks.

Modifications, Accessories, and Appearance / Mid pipe

Hi, I currently have a mid pipe that doesn't fully seal the connection to the header. The mid pipe inner diameter is 45mm, and I need a 42mm. So my questions are..

1) the exhaust leak, which I haven't noticed to cause any damage, can it be left as is? Mpg seems the same since I've added this eBay exhaust, and I don't smell any fumes whatsoever.

2) if it has to be fixed, can I seal the header pipe with some sort of heat resistant tape, making it slightly thicker and completing the connection?

I've searched on eBay and Amazon and haven't been able to find a mid pipe for the x that has an outter of 51mm and inner of 42mm. Any feedback is appreciated, thank you
