Ride Reports, Trips, and Touring / Out and About
« on: August 17, 2020, 12:15:10 AM »
Took a three hour tour around my area today.

Lake of the Woods.  Has the world's longest shoreline of any fresh water lake.

House boats on shore because of covid.

World's longest unsupported wooden bridge.  Well its was 20 years ago then they rebuilt it with steel but the tourists still think its wood.

Kramer Lake

SOLD

I have a Seat Concepts seat for sale.  The seat is new but I find I need the taller seat because my legs a little too long.  I paid about $300 cdn that includes the shipping.  The seat has already been installed on the pan so you would have to send me your seat.  Open to reasonable offers.

Just got my driving lights installed and used the Honda switch and they came out very well.  The light are all metal and are very bright.  Price was around $70usd off Ebay and came with the woring harness that I had to modify to work with the three terminal plug under the right cowling. Lights will only come on with the high beams on but can be switched off using the Honda switch.

Bike pretty much has to come apart to install the switch and harness.

« on: July 14, 2020, 02:48:21 PM »
My new driving light came in today.

 :006:
I bought them from a fake site that turned out to be from China.  I've had the charges reversed on my card.

Just got around to installing the Blazer light bar.  I had one on my NC so the CB got one.  It flashes 5 times when braking then on solid and also works as a tail light.  What cheapest around $35cdn.  Purchased it from Fortnine.ca.

Modifications, Accessories, and Appearance / Will These Gators Work
« on: June 22, 2020, 10:22:24 PM »
I had these lying around and wondering if I should fit them to the CB.  They measure 32mm at the top and 52mm on the bottom with a length as they sit of 225mm.  They use a tie to secure them at the bottom.

Modifications, Accessories, and Appearance / Givi Givi PL1121 Racks?
« on: June 21, 2020, 12:12:58 AM »
So I found a new used set of Givi racks for my 2020 CB.  Do these look right as in do they look like they would fit the CB? Seller says they were ordered for his 2016 but he sold the bike before he put them on.

Thanks

Riding Gear, Clothing, and Apparel / Scorpion EXO AT-950 Defect
« on: June 10, 2020, 11:27:12 PM »
I just not having any luck with finding a new helmet.  After the third try I thought i had found the right fitting helmet in the AT-950.  After wearing it for an hour to check for hot spots I noticed one of the pins was loose.  Now I just don't trust a replacement.  I may step up to the Klim and stay away from the modular.

CB500X - General Chat / Customs
« on: May 26, 2020, 04:41:37 AM »
I've been waiting for my centre stand to show up for over a month and just found out that Canada Customs sent my package back to the sender.  Why would Customs have a problem with a centre stand?

Anyone have a suggestion for a centre stand for the 2019-20?

I managed to trigger a check engine light code after installing my heated grips and really didn't find much info on reading and clearing the codes.  The 19 and 20 CB uses a six pin DLC that is hidden in a rubber protective boot just behind the fuse box.  Honda says you need service tool 070MZ-0010300 which is just a connector with two wires.  You can use a paper clip or wire to short out the brown and green wires.  Only short the wires in the picture because there are TWO BROWN WIRES.  Turn the key on to read the codes flashed on the MIL which is the typical long the short sequence.  To clear the codes, with the shorted pin installed, turn on the ignition, remove the shorted pin then reinstall while the MIL light is on.  The MIL light will start flashing quickly to tell you the codes have been cleared.
