CB500X - General Chat / Lextek Exhaust
« on: November 14, 2020, 05:44:23 PM »
Hello, Have any of you, friends from the UK, tried the Lextek exhausts?  :187: Some references? I have seen that they have very good prices compared to more well-known brands ...

They have some options...

Suspension / Which one
« on: November 02, 2020, 06:15:39 PM »
I know there're several posts about rear shocks but now I'm in the dillema of which one I choose... both options are the HyperPro HO05+0AA or the Level 1 Tractive Shock RRP 459. Both are very good brands, I have used Hyperpro in my previous bikes (VStrom & Versys).
What do you think in your experience?

Back home, I took a fairly long and boring stretch highway from the city of Nasca (yes, where the Nasca Lines are) to Lima, like 435 Kms. At a regime between 110 - 125km/hr consumption skyrocketed and the economy went to waste so that shows me that this motorcycle, to be economical, has to be driven about 100km/hr. Maybe with the front sprocket i want to install, that would get a little better, What do you think?
Cheers!

With just 300Kms on my '19 CB500X I made my first trip last week, from Lima to the city of Cusco (in the Andes). It was just over 1200Kms in two days, I had to do their first oil change on the road. Excellent performance of the bike, very maneuverable in the curves, very stable and very low fuel consumption at a moderate speed (not exceeding 100Km/h). Even having driven in sections over 4200 meters above sea level, the bike went well. My only negative comment was that midway through the second day the seat destroyed my butt. I have to drive standing in the footpegs at times to ease the discomfort. On the way back I bought a sheepskin from a peasant and put it on the seat. It was a great relief at first but I already have my butt damaged, so it didn't help as much in the rest of the ride. The sheepskin smell like hell, now my wife wants me to throw it away (I paid the equivalent of US$ 6.00 for it, I cut it to half and now I have two pieces to cut properly)... will continue
