I'm interested in the light bar and lights. Can you provide part numbers? And price?

Lighting, Electrical, and Wiring / Wiring in a brake light strobe controller
« on: September 19, 2019, 09:34:31 PM »

I searched but could not find an answer to this.

I bought an LED brake light and  a strobe controller ( for my 2013 cb500x , but I can't figure out which wires to cut. The controller has a red and black wire, whereas the brake/tail light has three wires: green, green/yellow and pink/blue.

I'm pretty sure the black splices into green, but I'm unsure which of the other two wires should get the red controller wire spliced in. Any help?

Crater Lake pic; not blue enough.

True - the evening ride around the rim was a bit gray. The next morning, the water was like a mirror and very very blue. Spectacular!

The bike was great. I have a MRA VarioTouringScreen and Rally-Raid racks for luggage. I mounted dryspec D68 luggage which worked fine. I packed a tent, ground sheet, 2 sleeping bags, camp pillows, and camp towels in the bigger bag and then pretty much all our clothes in the saddle bags. My son carried the air mattress in his tank bag and a few sundries plus a 1 gal fuel can in his tail bag. I also had a tank bag with a few items.

My son (KTM Duke 390) and I (2013 CB500X) did a trip down the 101 and then into Crater Lake. 7 days, 6 nights. Camping in 5 state parks and 1 national park. We had stellar weather the whole time - minor rain one evening and one very brief sprinkle on the road.

Sold pending...

Did the sale go through? I am more interested in the bags rather than the racks.

I broke down and bought the MRA VarioTouringScreen. Arrived yesterday and mounted after work. Took a quick spin and found that while it was still noisy, I could hit speeds over 130 km/h without feeling like I had to clinge to the bars. So I'll play with positioning the little spoiler over the next few days to see if I can fine tune it. Initial testing had me opting for the lower, closer setting.

Sure. If you want to add pics I wouldn't mind seeing your setup either.

Couldn't get any angles for a pic that would show the set up clearly.

I did move it up to the higher setting but in test rides, I found it worse than when I had it in the lower setting. Still kinda windy around here, so my results are still inconclusive. More testing required.

I was thinking about that bottom spacer the other day. How thick were the washers that you added at the base?

IIRC, they were 1/4" so doubled means 1/2". I can check when I get home, if you like.
