I have an update on this - a warranty replacement tank has been authorised, so good news  :152:

The metal underneath appears to have been scratched or gouged with something.
If that is the case they won't cover it.
I thought perhaps the metal was damaged/repaired or not prepped properly prior to paint, it's down in the gap between filler and tank - a very awkward and small space to be damaged. All I can be sure of is that it didn't happen in my ownership and I bought it new. Hopefully it'll go through ok.

Warranty claim submitted by dealer to Honda. They also requested some photo's showing general condition of the bike.
Wait and see now  :164:

Any warranty cover?

Might be worth asking as that looks unusual, and I can't think of anyone on the forum having paintwork troubles like that.......
Yes, I got mail off to the dealer this evening so I'll see how that goes. I'll update here as and when, thanks to all for the replies.  :821:

Have a look at this, it's 2019 model bike.
It's had no impact damaged in my ownership (I bought new off the showroom floor) although there feels to be a very shallow depression around the formed edge of the filler, it's easy to feel but harder to see. I wondered if the tank has been damaged prior to painting as it looks like something happened there but there are no witness marks in the parts etc.

So can you adjust the screen higher than the tallest original setting with these brackets?

I'm currently using an extension like this one:
https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/71DO3-jkwcL._AC_SL1001_.jpg

which is ok, but I'd rather have just one windshield and it's in my line of vision. I only need to add an inch or so, if this bracket could do that that would be great.

Thanks
This is my cut down OE screen, I was pleased to note that the brackets fix to the bike using the original rubber Well-nuts which means they'll pull out if I and it ever collide.

I replaced the original windscreen with a Givi D1121ST.  Amazon, USD 122.
19.3 H x 13.8 W (description claims 7.5 higher than stock).  Im 5 7, works great for me.
Note: product description says for 2013-2016 CB500X, but works fine on my 2018.
I had this touring screen on my 2019 and lateral buffeting battered my head at times, to the point of causing a headache at it's worst. It was also made more apparent in crosswinds.

My brackets arrived the other day (not sure how they got here so quick) and it looks like when installed with the screen fully lowered it's at the original height. I'll be finishing the install this weekend (polishing the screen at the moment), I'll update here with some photos.

I had the same problem. Standard screen wind over 80km/h feels like my head is being blown off. Removed it, much smoother air flow. My dad ended up buying me a Powerbronze short tinted screen as a present, so much better. The turbulent airflow is directed at my chest which is fine. Helmet airflow is smooth. The screen also conceals the brackets.

Do you happen to have a photo of it installed?
