Maintenance and Servicing / Re: side stand
« on: May 10, 2020, 06:12:17 PM »
Lowering the side, or kickstand in gear = the engine stops. I always start my bike in neutral, clutch out. I allow it to warm up while I close the garage door, suit up, etc. on the side stand in neutral. A lowered side stand + putting the bike in gear = engine stops; clutch in our out. An extremely valuable safety feature.

Thanks for the replies. Itís still too cold and wet in Lancaster, Pa to ride a lot. I have 250 miles so far. Both dealers near me recommend Dino oil for the next service. So, Iíll follow their advice but change oil and filter at 3000 miles using full synthetic. Iíll stay with 10W30 per the owners manual. Regardless of my mileage at the end of the riding season this coming winter, I wonít let the bike sit through the winter with dirty oil.

Initial break-in service is 600 miles. I agree the bike can live with regular oil but every article Iíve read supports the findings that full synthetic provides superior protection and better performance regardless of the vehicle. Is there any reason(s) not to change to full synthetic at the 600 mile service?

Modifications, Accessories, and Appearance / Throttle remapping
« on: March 21, 2020, 08:30:45 PM »
The throttle mapping on my 2019 is not conducive to low speed running. Does anyone know of a solution, preferably a factory fix. I donít want to violate the warranty.

I purchased a cheap one size fits all radiator guard for my 2019 X. It doesnít fit properly so Iíll return it. I would have to notch out the plastic panel at both bottom fastening points. Not the correct part and Iím not cutting anything to jiggy-rig it on the bike. Iíll wait for the exact part.

Beautiful!  What is the make?

I saw an R&G on-line for almost $100, too expensive. Waiting for the aftermarket to make a less expensive model that ďfitsĒ perfectly. Not into jimmy-rigging or bending to fit.

Re: CB 500 X Windscreen. The windscreen stands proud of the fairing and has 2 openings just below the instrument pod. I left mine in the lower position.

Hard facts,
Sorry to hear youíre having trouble with your X. It has convinced me to purchase the extended warranty from Honda. Good luck. I hope youíre up and running soon.
