coffman shorty exhaust
« on: May 18, 2014, 01:19:57 PM »
Just installed the Coffman shorty exhaust. Purchased it off ebay after getting confirmation it would fit the x. It is listed for the cbr500r part #5075. The owner of Coffmans actually said the one for the cb500f part #5080 would also work. Paid $195. Havent had a chance to go on long ride yet  but trip around the block sounded good.

this is installed as from coffmans, all baffles and silencers still intact. Might have to experiment

Would this exhaust work with a center stand?

my bike doesn't have a centerstand so I can't answer for sure. I imagine you would have to add a stop like I've seen on another post about a different exhaust.

With the baffles and whatnot installed, how much louder is it than the stock exhaust? I'd love to make my X sound cooler, but I don't need people hearing me from several blocks away.

I don't think its too loud. I took out the internal baffle as well. still not obnoxious. just growls a little.

I like it. I like it a lot. I imagine there is a big difference in weight? Any difference in performance?

I should have weighed the two exhausts. performance wise? not sure much difference. I don't ride too aggressively.

You still happy with this exhaust, or is it too loud for normal use?  I don't have a long commute, but there are times that I take the bike on a weekend trip. Is this thing going to rattle my brains?
