Myself and Stew1200 revisit the Borders after our last trip there almost 2 years ago to the day. We didn't get snowed on today, but it was cold with snow on the higher hills in the Borders. This time we done the route in reverse.

Talla Reservoir.

Megget Reservoir.

Grey Mare's Tail.

No video cameras rolling today, but here is the video from 2 years ago along the same route.

Some great roads there, and for our English neighbours, it's so much easier to reach than heading all the way up north.  Not so good in a car.....with all these speeding bikers ripping past though!!

The Buccleuch Hotel in Moffat is VERY biker friendly, and even has small bike lock ups for guests.  Great for anyone wanting a trip to this area.  https://www.buccleucharmshotel.com/biker-friendly/

Good photos.

Just looked at the picture they have on their website and it was taken from the same spot with the Talla reservoir in the background.
You are so right as many riders from down south head for the roads of Glencoe and further north and miss what the Borders have to offer, even guys up here I have spoken to have never explored that area.
The Buccleuch Hotel is well published in all the magazines and more hotels should do likewise, lucky for us we can easily do the trip in a day and head home, but Moffat does make a great base for exploring that area.
Cheers.  :028:

Fantastic accolade for the biker-friendly Buccleugh in Moffat - just wished my local patch (in the Northumberland borders) had some accommodation to match the lengths taken in Moffat.
Today, being on the sunny and dry side, heard me listening for bikes enjoying the roads leading to and from Kielder reservoir - ah, the range of notes . . . .

Not so much "out and about", more "been out and about, now time to clean the toys".

Took the RR CB out yesterday to play on the local green lanes. Then the Jeep today.

Weather was looking good today, so took the day off.
The route was: Bonnybridge, Bridge of Allan, Creiff, Dunkeld, Blairgowrie, Glenshee, Braemar, Ballater, Strachan, Fettercairn, Montrose, Arbroath, Dundee, Kinross, Kincardine, then home. Total distance 262 miles.
Met a few bikers and took some pics for them.

Somewhere along that route is a handy "halfway point" for Glasgow and Aberdeen riders to meet and do a Scottish rideout!!

Finally a glorious weather blessed our last weekend, so I decided to drive all the way to Tuscany to visit some archeological sites.

At the beginning of the trip I broke the threshold of the 10,000 km:

Olive trees in beautiful Tuscany

Then, I looked for some light off-road on the way back

...I drove until the sunset:
