47 here. To answer the 30's question, I had an RC51 for most of them. A healthy sense of my own mortality (and back surgery) prompted me to find something with betters ergos and less twitchy acceleration characteristics  :305:

I've always ridden sport bikes but no longer on the street.. lol.. I've crashed so many times dirt and road racing my neck only only has about 80 degrees of rotation and I can't see the traffic around me unless I twist my whole back.. Which is really hard with sport bike egos.. So its standards and ADV bikes for me from now on, unless its a track bike..

I just bought a 500X today and traded my NT700 in on the new bike.  I had 70k miles on the NT.  I will be 73 in two months.

welcome terryfred
I'll be 74 in 6 days
the  500X is the best thing I did on two wheels after years of bigger, heavier, and faster others
I'm thinking the X will deliver you 70 thousand mi. (easily) as well

You don't see many young bikers here like it was in the 60s and 70s. Every bike meet I go to it like a leather clad old folks home. I'm 61 with body of a 90 year old and the mind of 17 year old (my wife says 5 year old)

So true, I guess a combination of the current difficult licence process, new bike and insurance costs, and maybe even more people having ambitions to drive 4 wheels not 2 means we are seeing far fewer new riders - easy PCP car deals maybe make cars easier too.

The Perth Bike Night is definitely attended by an older generation of riders try to spot a twenty-something in this photo!

62 and just back into bikes after a rather long break. Loving every minute of it.
