I went with the barkbusters "storm" they offer good wind protection, and also branches and scrub don't catch my brake/clutch when doing some more "adventurous" riding, my only issue is the mounting to the handlebar, (not the bar end), is rather cumbersome, so I am looking at possibly making my own attachment there.

I think I paid $125ish AUD, which I thought was reasonable from a dealer considering they usually charge through the teeth!

Anyway, that's my 2 bobs worth  :152:

That's an expression I haven't heard for a while. Not since I moved to Essex from Wales. Are you an ex pat by any chance?

I just want wind protection. I think these look good, are easy to fit, and cost me 9!

I bought the same thing on Amazon.com for CDN$19.26. But mine look a little lopsided. I ran the bracket between the throttle cables. Perhaps I should have gone over the top of them like you did.

Did you modify the bracket?

Did you have to rotate the handlebar controls on either side to get them to line up?

Blackie, I have the same ones on mine, bought them from a uk seller on ebay for 13, they look real nice smoked to match my windshield.I did put white pvc tape where the yellow stripe went, didn't know you could just peel it off, but they look good for the price

Do you have a link to them please ?

Just installed these bad boys. They are a solid metal shroud with a plastic overlay. Fitment was easy and they seem extremely durable. You will run into wind screen interference at full lock, but the benefit outweighs the issue for me. Plus, they are less than $30.

I have the same pair as Blackie, and I would second everything he said. They look sharp, keep the wind off my hands, and are easy to install (except for the end bolt on the handlebars - had to buy a manual impact driver for that). Would definitely recommend, especially for only $20. I ordered from this link on Amazon:

Also, here's the impact driver I needed to get that damn end bolt off:

I have the sw-motech ones. Same price and build like barkbusters, different shells. I think they are more in-style with the bike curves and have an extra cover which goes on top for winter.

The SW Motech looks really nice. I had the Barkbuster VPS, very similar n I added on white full time LED lights..really good for additional visibility of the bike for night riding
