bellypan removal
« on: January 24, 2014, 05:23:12 PM »
Picked up my 500x today, im going to give it a coat of acf50 ready for our salty roads. Theres no mention of the bellypan removal in the owners manual, it it just a case of removing the exposed fasteners to drop it, or is anything else to remove????
 Cheers mark.

It's in the shop manual.  Installation instructions for the center stand refer you to the "Service Manual".

Congrats, the belly is easy to remove, about 6 sockets to undo. Taking my off tomorrow for another reason so will tell you tomorrow night if you still need help.

Cheers munkey, ill wait for your reply post and do mine sunday  :152:
As I havnt got a workshop/tech manual, only got the bike today.
Edit-
Did it this morning, quite easy to remove, just be careful of the bolt under the chain near where the overflow pipes pass through, best to undo this one first. Also fitted a honda hugger to keep the muck off the shock. :002:
