Cool - what was mined there?

I visited Calico gold mine 'ghost town' near Barstow in California years ago, that was interesting!

I visited the Queen mine in Bisbee AZ. They mined copper and I very nearly spent 100 dollars on a 10 pound brick of pure copper. I just couldn't do it though.
I don't actually own a vehicle with more than 2 wheels...
