New Luggage
« on: July 09, 2017, 02:14:05 AM »
I just installed some luggage.  I wanted something which would hold my helmet and some various other gear and be able to support a short 2-4 day trip.  I settled on the GIVI 35L sidecases.  They were super easy to install and I think they look pretty good.

Congratulations, I have the same ones on mine and I love them! Turn the key, press one button and it's open, press the other and off it comes and you carry it in with the nice top handle. Couldn't be better as far as I'm concerned.

Same here, they are very nice. But watch out when you place the helmet inside. I wrecked the sunvisor knob when on my helmet because it whats a little tight..  :034:

Looks good.  I e been looking at luggage options myself.  I may get the smaller shad bags but they aren't easy to find.

Those are all nice looking cases.
I'm also looking for some luggage for mine. I've been looking hard at Shad, mainly because they're considerably less expensive than GIVI. Don't get me wrong, I love the Givi's, have even been pricing those out as well but here's my dilema.
I am mainly only going to be using my bike to take my wife out on relatively short rides of several hours while the kids are in school. I really just want some storage for the helmets if we go out for lunch, and to carry some rain gear and a few tools.
I'm not a huge fan of a solo top case. Depending on the size and  bike they can look somewhat awkward I think. So, I was all set to get the Shad 36L sidecases but started worrying about having to open each one to insert helmet, then on the other side and what about my small assortment of tools or rain gear? No, definitely want a big top case but don't want that stand alone look.
Anyhow, now I'm thinking of going with a Shad 49L top case but still getting the 23L side cases. I think that would still look nice, (Please let me know if you think it would look unbalanced), would give me the giant trunk for helmets and the side cases I can use for rain gear, tools and misc.
Any thoughts?
Nice thing about Shad, while still pricey could get all that for just over 800 I think, less shipping. (Yeah, I know, still a lot huh?)
