Strata Florida

Proof that where there is a will, there is a way!

Video of our recent trip in mid-Wales, including Pavel on his Rally Raid equipped CB500X. It is obviously not as capable as a proper trail bike on these tracks but we were all impressed with how well it coped with most of the route, and especially how it started straight away after going down in the water (especially as were not looking forward to trying to get the spark plugs out!).

That looked like a blast! We don't have many trails in southern AZ, especially ones like that. The bit with the 500x wading through seat height water should be as good as any RR advertisement.
I don't actually own a vehicle with more than 2 wheels...

If you look at other videos of that route you will see the water was quite low for our trip! Luckily not too cold either; all ended up with boots full of water, and Pavel was soaked to his boxers!

Brilliant!!

I must stop saying the 500X is a road bike that can do a little green laning - you've proved that it can do just about anything!! :152:

Sorry to disagree, but for most riders that will not be true the 500x is just too heavy with too little suspension travel and too little ground clearance. It maybe fine on gravel roads or something a bit more technical with 3000 worth of RR stuff and an experienced rider. The route in the vid is reasonably ridable in the dry, it's reputation for being difficult is when it is wet where a boat would be more suitable.

Ha! Ha! I suppose that's true, but it's better than what my brother and I used to blast around off road on - a 'wartime' 350 Matchless like this!!  Wish we still had it....... :008:

Couldn't resist looking out a photo of the real thing!

350 Matchless in 1972 (age? - I was just 19!), and check out that old pudding bowl helmet.  That's the only protective gear we had.....

Then, just for fun, one taken 45 years later, out with my granddaughter in New Zealand. both on Hondas...... and no helmet at all this time!!:169:

Great looking bike - I am trying to convert an AJS 250 to similar spec for trials 👍

including Pavel on his Rally Raid equipped CB500X.

He's insane, mad, certifiable, a nutter, crazy.
