200 Miles and a slight num bum!
« on: July 29, 2017, 05:54:13 PM »
Hey, just had a thoroughly enjoyable sprint around North Yorkshire Dales, covered about 200 miles all in. Picture is my bike with probably my favourite dale as the backdrop!  Cracking day out!

Get yourself a "Sheepskin" pad and banish the "Num Bum" for good.

I've found that if you slide back just a little bit, until your bum is just against the rise in the seat, your weight is moved off your tailbone and numb bum is reduced...... :156:

Yep, i did slide back and forth a bit, it certainly helped the bum! Also, being back a bit further lowered me a little behind the screen so less buffeting - not the most comfortable though!

No deadly serious, one of the main reasons that I bought the CB X was the comfortable riding position and having covered 1,000 miles in the first two weeks of ownership it has exceeded my expectations in this key area. However, I have over the years used a "Sheepskin" pad with great success. The last one I bought was less than 20. I have four pieces of Velcro stuck under the rim of the seat and four corresponding pieces of Velcro attached to the pad which facilitates attachment and removal in less than ten seconds. It is not a great idea to use it in heavy rain but apart from that in genuinely makes the bike all day comfortable for me.

Hey thanks :-)  Yes, full Honda Hard Luggage kit came on the bike from the dealers. I only really use the top, the panniers are hiding in the garage until the wife wants to go pillion !

20 - Where from? I guess its a generic fit for that price, or is it CB500x tailored??  I think ill look into it. I have to say, i did another 180 miles this weekend pretty much without any stops and didn't really have any fatigue this time.  Loving the bike :-)

I bought my 2014 last November with 1870 miles. The previous owner had purchased a Corbin seat for it. Rode 300 miles on Saturday and 100 yesterday. Absolutely NO rider fatigue. That seat is worth its weight in gold. Highly recommend it!
