Returning to 500x
« on: August 01, 2017, 06:13:05 PM »
After a year since selling my 24,000 miler Rally Raid Stage 3 bike i've just put a deposit down on a '14 CB500x with 16,000 miles.

I didn't get on with my 2 other bikes i've owned since selling my 500x and today I test rode the tracer 07 and then the 500x back to back.  The tracer had a clunky gear box and was heavy in vibrations at all revs, sure the power was nice, really nice actually but i felt the bike lacked the refinement of the Honda in all departments except styling. Getting on the cb500x was like being home again. yep the same unexciting throttle I remembered but it just fits me so well and just seems so well rounded. For the money of a higher mileage bike it's a no brainer. Its getting serviced over the weekend then i'll pick it up. Sadly no Rally raid kit this time as that suspension worked very well and there is a bit more rust than the mint condition bike i sold but nothing i cant hammerite over.

it's nice to be back and i hope the last year has treated you all well and you have had some great adventures
Sold:  '13 Rally Raid lvl 3.
own:  '17  Rally Raid lvl 1

Welcome back, I am glad to see that the 500X won you over... again!
I don't actually own a vehicle with more than 2 wheels...

Welcome back Dukie, I'm still here and enjoying my lowered X.  Will you be lowering yours when you get it?

Hi Dukie, great to have you back. It says something for the X that you've tried the others but come back to it.

Welcome back! The X Is really something. My opinion is that if Honda had made it a 650 it would be the perfect bike to own, period.

I am curious why aren't you getting the rally raid after having it before on your old X. You mentioned  it worked well, but, is it not worth the investment?
