I'm considering picking up a set of these guys

Revzillia says out of stock but Canadian seller "Front nine" has them. I think they are about right for what I want out of luggage. I watched the video on the link and feel and warm and fuzzy inside. I was considering the whole aluminum hard box thing but I would be looking at over $1200(.ca) and really it may just be excessive. Plus I could be wrong but I feel a complete set of aluminum full of stuff might be a little much for these bikes. I do already have one aluminum rear box.

Other than to gather thoughts, I'm also assuming I will need some kind of luggage mounting frame to keep these from leaning into the great hollow below the seat. Does anyone know a cost effective solution to that? If my dad were not retired he could measure and weld up some stainless steel tubes for me at his old place of work for practically free. Retailers have the mounts for hard cases that would work well, but many of those are around $200. I'm thinking there is a better way.

Have you checked motostorm.it/en yet? They might have what you are looking for, though I don't know how Canada does their import tax (US has no tax on moto luggage).

As for keeping them out of the hollow, I think there may be some info on the forum about it, or you could go all-out on things like these from Rally Raid >>>> link hidden <<<<

Just wondering if it would be feasible to attach a strap to the passenger peg support on one side and run it back around the tail assembly under the turn signals to the passenger peg support on the other side.  Wouldn't that afford sufficient support to keep the bags out of the rear tire and be an inexpensive solution?

yeah you are right, however as you see everyday someone starts a new thread about something that's already here without bothering to do a simple search. Just adds to the clutter on the forum and takes away from actual info that's already here. In fact more repetitive posts make it way more difficult to find what people are looking for. Do a simple search before you post is all I am saying.

However, the best way to break the ice for a newcomer is to ask a question.  It starts the socialization process and at times can evoke answers that were not previously given or thought of at the time the old thread took place.

Good info. That is a much cheaper way of doing things. To the cranky old bugger, thanks for that info. I did plenty of searching on luggage but was not actually familiarized with the term "Saddle bag stays." I mostly got info on what luggage people got or like but not so much with how to attach them. This should be useful.
