Shad 3 point brackets
« on: August 26, 2017, 10:43:44 PM »
I ended up trying out the Shad cases. Overall the fitment seems kind of bad. The right side in particular barely lined up, like it needs another spacer or just a different bar entirely.

It mounts via the muffler bracket, so it makes me a bit nervous. With just the Shad S23 cases, they had the 'grab bars' on both sides. Left side not badly, but right side quite badly. Keys are difficult to turn.

Anyone else ordered the Shad boxes/system and had fit issues? I'm debating between just going back for the Givi since the Shad stuff fits so poorly. I was swayed because it was about 300$ for the Shad vs. 550+ for the Givi.

Quick and dirty imgur album work? My browser was having a panic attack, but should be both side-bags, and the muffler mount. Both bind.

Almost looks like you were suppose to take off the handles.  I really liked the 23s.  I would have gone that direction if I had known they would fit.

The install sheet shows to leave them on. Everything kinda wants to line up, but nothing ends up having the clearance. Plus the muffler mount is @#$%ed up.

Someone suggested that they sent me a 2016-2017 bracket, since the muffler changed at that point.

They do not fit had to return mine. If you go to the shad Spanish Web site it says they don't fit. The English Web site says they do?

They have fitment kits for the 2013-2016 models on the 'shadonline' web page.

What's really amusing to me is the 4th picture in the 13-16 bikes is the same one used for the 2017. It doesn't even have the 2017 bike as far as I can tell.

I'll say this. If it had worked and cleared I'd have been happy. The bags snap on/off in a minute or so, and it only took me about 30 minutes to get the frames on/off. Better than the horror show that was the OEM bags on my NC.

I ran into the same info.  Is there a way you can make it work?

You need to modify the frame. It's the wrong offset and angle.

If you've got a welding machine you could probably do it by cutting then re-welding it. And then powder coating it again.

Shoot, this is worrisome as I was just getting ready to order some Shad cases for my 2017. Do you know which part number you received woodsparrow? I emailed Shad as the site is rather confusing and was told for the 2017 to use H0CX57IF. They definitely do have a different part number for 13-16.
