The short easy answer is, Yes they do look bad.
But there is nothing that beats the convenience they bring.

An ugly top box on an ugly bike (although I will admit beauty is in the eyes of the beholder)--where's the problem.  :435: if I bought on the basis of looks I would likely have a Royal Enfield and get plenty of practice with my maintenance skills. After test rides on many bikes the CB500X's combination of comfort, reliability and practically convinced me to overlook its looks. When I travel I load it up with a top box, soft saddlebags, tank panniers, a tank bag, and a drybag, all of which it handles easily.  :306:

I went with the Givi Outback Trekker as well. I love the way it looks. It's also unbelievably useful not only adding cargo space but also providing more spots to fasten stuff like a camera bag.

Delivery? No, it's Delissio

Sweet that looks cool, I would have to drive my truck if I didn't have a top box.

I ride an R version, but I bought a pillion seat off of Ebay, removed the cover, shaved the foam down, reassembled it, but then bolted a Givi Monolock plate on it. I use the 30 liter size and only for day rides, but it puts the box right behind me. Since MY pretty girlfriend will no longer ride with me, I've got a much tidier setup. When I tour, I use the original pillion seat and lash my duffle back there longitudinally with the side cases taking up the rest.

No problem with the looks of a topbox on our (very pretty!) adventure design bikes - that's the right look, go anywhere, do anything!!  :018:

Don't have one though!!!!! :155: :155:

Took the bike out today to check it out after adjusting the chain (always paranoid about wheel alignment) and left the top box off.  Whilst not denying the functionality of a box the bike felt a deal better without it. As I said previously, more weight in entirely the wrong place.

Geoff.
Heated grips, gear position indicator, grip puppies, fenda extenda, tank protector, Michelin PR4's with "Tyre seal installed", shaved seat, rack and Givi Blade top box, rear hugger, sidestand plate, center stand, Hawk accessory bar with spotlights, Daneli mini soundbomb, Givi XS319 tanklock bag, loobman oiler, Evotech radiator guard, Fuel Micro Mini minus baffle and a liberal coating of Acf50 oh and a detachable sheepskin seat pad, lovely.

Agree completely - but does also remind me I still have a Givi fitting kit for a CB500X and Givi Trekker (think that it is what it is) top box which came with it in my garage. If anyone is interested PM me  :152:
