Start of riding season
« on: April 16, 2018, 12:57:30 AM »
So I dug out my neighbours garage where I stored my bike for the winter this morning, rolled it out onto the driveway, popped the battery back in, and it started instantly. Gotta love that Honda reliability. The pressure in the tires was still fine, so I went for a short ride around town... and then out to the airport... and then to the parking lot where the figure 8's and the slalom course is marked.

Only went home because I was getting fekking cold. It was sunny but -4C and I don't really have proper winter gear.

Once I got home, I noticed that my registration tags expired last month :006:

So hopefully I can get new tags and the weather warms up a few degrees, but I'm officially declaring it spring and the beginning of riding season  :001:

Spring is here! On Saturday we had 25C in the NYC area. I rode to Connecticut and there was a lot of wind along I-95 and 10-15C. Lots of potholes and roads that deteriorated over the winter. I pulled off the highway onto a shoulder that was rutted and washed out, gave my rectal muscles a good workout.

Glad you got out Gnome. it was -4 here too, but 4" of accumulated ice pellets and then freezing rain to put a hard shell over it all means I'll have to wait till the weekend to get back out. It was -4 in the mornings but dry last week and I rode to work 1/2hr is probably the most I'd want to go without heated grips when its below freezing.
