I don't understand, mine bolted on with no mods. Maybe I got lucky or maybe they keep the good ones to sell here in Thailand.

Cheers SnowOwl the rack is a love hate thing. I love how it looks but I hate it for having to do what I did. It's a shame really it wouldn't be hard for them to put a couple of bends in the brackets to make it fit tidy, I will try and find the other Thailand rack and post it up on here so you can see it.

ThirtyOne there will be more building and diy happening to my bike I haven't finished with the rack yet but it will do for now,  any thing I fit will be posted up with as many pictures as possible.
And I will post a pic of my bike

Thank you for the comments

Very good to hear. Happy modding! I'm only slightly jealous  :821:

There seems to be 2 versions of this rack.  The cutouts on the flat plate are a bit different and the bends in the arms are different.  One fits as advertised, one does not.

I was unlucky and got the one that didnt fit.

found the other Thailand rack in the sellers feedback history theres only one I can see,
and it was sold to some one in Thailand.
looks like a different brand the arms are 5mm thick instead of 6mm like mine, the top plate is the same at 3mm.

there are small v shape notches where each bend is and where the arms bolt onto they have been rounded off.

looks like its for sw motech boxes

Mine bolted on no problem - don't know what you guys are doing or maybe they sent you the wrong one that does not fit the CB500X.  :027:

If you look closely at the brackets in the picture labeled "3/12" there are a couple of bends that step the mounting down from the "v" cuts to the bolt holes.  In the picture labeled "8/12" those step down bends are not there.  The "8/12" version is the problem, it needs the step down to get over the subframe and body work properly.  The ad for the one I purchase the pictures showed the "3/12" version and I got the "8/12" one.

Out of curiosity and if possible could all the guys and gals who's rack fitted without problems take a picture like my last two of the underside of the grabrails showing how much clearance there is and post it in this thread please.
